Auction update

We have a new raffle this year – the “First Choice” raffle. Chances are sold throughout the evening (only 125) with the drawing to be held before the start of the live auction.  The winner of this raffle gets their choice of item from the live auction before it begins!!

Also new this year, we will be playing a fun game of Heads or Tails before the start of the live auction. The prize for this…..a brand-new, just released by Apple, black iPad mini!!

The committee is very excited about all the donations that we have received this year!  There are over 160 items in the silent auction and over 30 delicious desserts in our Sweet Treats section!  The live auction will include a shotgun donated by Mann’s and John Nehring, a pistol by Diamondback firearms, a 2 night stay at the Omni hotel on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, the 2012 Federal Duck Stamp print donated by Phillips Appraisal, January Murder Mystery tickets at Pheasant Hollow Winery, a 3 night stay at the Atlantis Casino in Reno, NV and Southwest airlines gift card, an overnight stay in St. Louis, a Super Bowl party brought to your house, a laser cut fire pit donated by the Small family, a bounce house birthday party at the DQ Health Center, and MORE!!!

If you haven’t sent in your RSVP, please send it in this week. There are a limited number of seats still available.  This is a special year, as we celebrate 125 years of St. Bruno School.  Pyatt’s Funeral Home generously scanned all the photos that were sent in and created a video that will be playing the night of the auction, and will also be available for purchase.

Cross Country team competes at State

The St. Bruno cross country team competed in the Class S state cross country meet on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Salem.

Running for the girls team was Gabrielle Alongi, Dakota Krone, Paige Epplin, Kyla Epplin, Kelly Epplin, Mayci Doerflein, and Blaise Wyciskalla. There were 163 runners in the girls race. The top 50 finishers received medals.  Receiving medals for the Falcons  – Gabrielle Alongi finished 25th with a time of 13:31.2 and Dakota Krone finished 48th with a time of 14:10.9.  The girls team received 8th place overall in a field of 33 teams!  Grace Numi, Sarah Barnes, Gayle Winter, and Emma Banach round out the girls cross country roster for this year.

Running for the boys was James Robb, John Alongi, Kelton Linze, Kyle Luke, and Evan Williams.  There were 204 runners in the boys race.  The boys also had a great day, with Evan Williams the top finisher for the boys team at 116.  We are so proud of all the runners and continue to be impressed by the way these athletes represent their school, their faith, and their family.

St. Bruno School 125th Anniversary Dinner & Auction, Sat. Nov. 10

The annual St. Bruno School dinner and auction celebrating the school’s 125th anniversary is Saturday, November 10th.  If you haven’t already, please send your family’s donation for the class projects this week.  If you would like to make an additional donation, please complete the donation form and send your donation and the completed form to school.  The committee sincerely appreciates your help in making the auction a success!

Baseball Championship Game Friday at 3:00

Good luck to the St. Bruno-Tamaroa baseball team as they play in the Class S Championship game this Friday, Oct. 5 at 3:00 pm in Coulterville.  Wear your green and gold and come cheer the boys on to victory!!

Pep rally in the gym at 1:45 and then the boys will board the bus.  School will dismiss at 2:00.  There will be a fan bus for grades 4-8. The cost is $4.00 ($2 for the bus & $2 admission).  You must send a permission slip for your student to ride the fan bus.


Parent Seminar – Internet Safety 10/2 at 6:30

Tuesday, October 2, at 6:30 there will be a parent seminar in the cafeteria on internet safety.  A video on internet safety will be viewed and then there will be an opportunity for discussion.  Macs will be set up so that those who attend will be able log in to complete the quiz and satisfy their child protection training refresher course requirement for the Diocese of Belleville.
