Charlotte Pestka was raised in Tamaroa IL. She went to grade school and High school in Tamaroa. After high school, she attended Rend Lake College for two years and then moved on to SIUC to pursue her bachelor degree in teaching.
After graduating from SIU, she started teaching at St. Charles School in Du Bois, IL. During this time, she married Dennis Pestka and they have two children. Paige Jackson, a teacher, in Tallahassee FL. and Brittany Numi, a Registered Nurse at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. After the school in Du Bois closed, she started teaching at St. Bruno. Brittany was in 7th grade at the time and would be attending Pinckneyville High School in a couple of years. She felt that this was a good move for Brittany and herself. Charlotte has been lucky enough to teach all grades throughout her career. She enjoys teaching 3rd grade and hopes to stay at that grade level. Throughout her career, besides teaching, she has coached track, volleyball, and Math Counts She has now started back up the speech team at St. Bruno. She enjoys working with children in all capacities.
